Accomplishment

When reviewing his spiritual accomplishments, the Apostle Paul stated,” I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. Phil. 3:7-9

To know Christ is to target the things that were important to Him … loving sinners, serving them, and making a way for them to be with Him in eternity.

DAILY PRAYER: Forgive me Lord for valuing what I want rather than what You want. Break the hardness of my heart so I can be sensitive to the needs of those around me.

DAILY READING: Gen. 7,8; Luke 4

God Has Your Answer Ready

Then Abraham noticed a ram caught by its horns in a bush. So he took the ram and sacrificed it, instead of his son, as a burnt offering on the altar. Gen. 22:13

God was establishing His identity as the Great Provider in the story about Abraham and Isaac in the above passage. He always has a solution available to us, even before we know we need it.

DAILY PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for making solutions to the problems of life. We see Your love and Your power every time we discover Your provision.

DAILY READING: Gen. 5,6; Luke 3

Suffering

Wow! An unpopular concept. Who wants to suffer, and who would ever sign up for it?

Suffering seems to be an unelected byproduct of life whose critical factor is how we respond to it.

The Apostle Paul responded to his sufferings by realizing that Christ also suffered. He used it as an opportunity to identify with Christ when he said, “That I might KNOW HIM, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings…” (Phil. 3:10)

DAILY PRAYER: Lord, forgive us when we complain about the hardships of life. Give us Your strength when we need the help.

DAILY READING: Gen. 3,4; Luke 2

Dependence

Jesus said, “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” Jn. 15:5c

My opinion is, “Why try to live life without the Lord’s presence.” We show our dependance upon Him by spending quality relationship time with Him at the beginning of our day. Join me daily for a scripture thought, a Bible reading plan, and a timely prayer.

DAILY READING: Gen. 1,2; Luke 1

DAILY PRAYER: Lord, fill my life with Your presence, Your direction, and Your power. I don’t want to try it on my own anymore.

Getting Ready for His Coming

“Maranatha” was an Aramaic phrase meaning “The Lord Comes.”

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. [For] The Lord is at hand. Phil. 4:4,5

Preparations are being made for a new school year. Let’s prepare our hearts for the return of Christ by moderating the cares of this life and stirring up our spirit man by rejoicing in the Lord. We are nearly ready!!!

Lord, Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory. I look for Your return.

A New Day

Not only does the Lord’s mercy follow us (Ps. 23:6), but it greets us every morning.

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lam. 3:22,23)

If grace is getting what we don’t deserve, mercy is not getting what we DO deserve, and we’ve all miserably failed the Lord.

Lord, we are grateful for Your unending and limitless compassion that is available. I receive a new portion today.

The Lord’s Day

The first day of the week was the day of Christ’s resurrection. (Mk. 16:9)

It was the day of worship for the early church. (1 Cor. 16:1,2)

John, the Revelator, called it “The Lord’s Day” when he addressed the early church. (Rev. 1:10)

Obviously, every day belongs to God, but in respect and reverence, we give the first day of the week to Him. Let’s all worship, hear the Word preached, and have fellowship with our eternal family on this, “The Lord’s Day.”

Lord, thank You for giving us Your best. We give this day back to You.

The Church’s One Foundation …

Is Jesus Christ, her Lord.

As Paul declared in Galatians 2:20, we Christians are the household of God, and He is building His house on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone.

Jesus warned that we should build our lives upon His teachings, so when the storms of life come, our house will stand.

By God’s grace, that is how Trinity Christian School is being built.

Heavenly Father, fill our lives with the grace and truth which came through Jesus. We stand, united in our faith and trust in Him.

Hearing God

“Blessed is the man that hears Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors.” Pr. 8:34

This verse changed my life. It gave me a solid reason to seek the Lord in the morning. It implies a required diligence on our part, with a reward worth far more than the energy expended. What does He want to say to you?

Lord, of all the things in life I can seek after, hearing Your voice of direction each morning gets moved to the top of my list. Grace me to intentionally put You FIRST.

“But I have prayed for you”

So declared Jesus (Luke 22:31) after revealing to Simon Peter that Satan wanted to deter him.  Paul the Apostle personally prayed for the members of the Colossian church on a continual basis. (Col. 1:3)

As Christian leaders, we are given the ultimate example by Jesus and Paul to spiritually protect the lives of our subordinates through prayer. Let’s get on with it.

Lord, I lift in prayer those I love, those I teach, and those for whom I am responsible. Protect and prosper them as only You can.  It’s always in Your Name I pray.
