Eil neglected to correct his sons so they grew up, became priests, and desecrated God’s House with their immorality and greed.  Eli could have spared himself the grief by correcting their sins at an early age.  God told Samuel that Eli “Failed to restrain them.”

From the cradle, parents have the responsibility to teach children to obey those in authority.  If left to their own ways, they always bring heartache to their families and everyone else.

DAILY PRAYER:  Father in heaven, grace us to be good parents and leaders, instructing our children in the ways of Your Kingdom.
