The older members of Israel began weeping when they saw the temple being rebuilt in Jerusalem, upon the order of Cyrus, King of Persia. They had known the former temple, and the rush of emotions overcame them. Their weeping was mixed with the sound of joy coming from the younger members.

The Psalmist declared, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go up to the house of our God.” The Lord loves to hear the involvement of sincere emotion when we enter His presence.

DAILY PRAYER: Lord, I will always be joyful when You are near. I get weepy when I think of all Your goodness to me.
