During the sequence of plagues God sent upon Egypt, Pharaoh uttered this threat against the man, Moses. No doubt, Pharaoh himself was in fear and awe having witnessed God’s punitive displays of power. He himself was directly acquainted with the personal anguish fear brings.

In the same sense, the enemy of our souls, the Devil, also exists under the indictment of God and knows his days are numbered. In his own defensive desperation, he also slings threats upon anyone who will listen.

Jesus said, “I am come to bring life, and that, abundant.”  Not death.

DAILY PRAYER: Lord, we gratefully rejoice in the hope You bring. Because You live, because You conquered death, hell and the grave, we too can confidently carry on our lives here on earth with no fear.
