Whether Old Testament or New, it’s clear: God loves obedience, and He rewards it richly. His offer to His people through the intermediary, Moses was this; “If you obey Me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession …  you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

This was similar to what He offered to the Sons of Zadok, the priesthood family who gave the highest level of devotion to God. He told them, “I will be your possession, I will be your reward.”

When we behold Him in all His glory, we will understand the magnanimity of this offer.

DAILY PRAYER: Father, Whom have I in heaven but You, and there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. You are my portion, my inheritance. All material possessions are meaningless.
