When things are good, we generally like to retain control of our life and remain somewhat independent of anyone’s rule, until trouble hits. God’s system of laws were intended to develop a healthy dependence between Himself and His people. Even in their disobedience, He always wanted to be available when they cried out for help.
Jesus said, “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” [Jn.15:5b] His help is as close as the mention of His name.
PRAYER: Lord, forgive us for ignoring You and Your Word. We need You in our lives. We can’t make it alone.
