Jesus told the Rich Young Ruler to sell all that he had and give to the poor. This was the response to his request, “What can I do to inherit eternal life?”

This dialogue gives us insight into the nature of giving and being benevolent in this lifetime. We all have an opportunity to make a dent in the Eternal by giving what we can in this lifetime. This challenge helps us see where our values are.
