This was Elizabeth’s question to God as she witnessed God’s Spirit upon Mary and sensed the awe of the beginnings of John and Jesus. Mary was also in awe of the privilege she experienced at being the mother of the Christ child.

The answer came through Zechariah’s song … “Because of the tender mercy of the Lord.”

None of us deserve to be used by God, yet in His sovereignty and great mercy He picks us out to be instruments of His Great Plan.

PRAYER: As Mary sang, “Be it unto me according to Thy Word,” so we also look to You, Lord, to fill us with Your Word and Spirit and use us for Your eternal purposes.
