Gideon requested one gold earring from each of his soldiers after they had defeated the Midianites. They agreed. It yielded 43 pounds of gold, which Gideon molded into a ritual vest, which he located in his city, ‘Ofrah. But all Isra’el turned it into an idol there, and it thus became a snare to Gideon and his family.’s

God’s reward for doing God’s work is the safest way to receive payment. When we focus on what we want, we lose focus on the Lord and His provision.

“God may not always pay on Fridays, but He always pays.” (I used to hear Pastor Moses Vegh say this)

PRAYER: Lord, Your provision is more than enough for me. I will seek Your reward rather than be distracted by looking out for myself.
