As Jesus and His disciples were traveling toward Jerusalem, they encountered a village who did not receive Him. His disciples wanted to call down fire from heaven as a punishment to those people. Christ rebuked them and said they were unaware of how wrong their spirit was … that He came to heal men and not destroy them.

It’s easy to get riled up when people oppose us for the sake of Christ. Remember, He loves them and wants us to love and be merciful to them too.

We get too shortsighted in our view. We have little patience for those who are not on our team.
