David had enemies. He went from being a mighty warrior in his youth to being a trusting priest/king before the Lord. As a young man he would attack his enemies with material weapons. As a mature Godly leader, he deferred judgement to the Lord and waited for Him to act.
This is meekness. David, as did Moses, knew that God sees all and will vindicate those who trust in Him.
We have a choice … take up our own defense against our enemies, or abide in God’s commands and wait for Him to be our defender. When we allow God to rise up in judgment, all will see Who is in control. Meanwhile, we praise Him and trust.
