A Psalm for Retirees

I’m glad Psalm 37 is in the canon of scripture. It offers great hope and security for those who are aged and past the prime of life. The word “inheritance” is frequent. The assurance that God will provide for and keep the aged is the prevailing theme of this Psalm.

For one who has focused more on trust than upon saving, it is comforting to have God’s promises that the “righteous” will not be “forsaken, nor see his seed begging bread.”

Seeking the Lord rather than seeking worldly wealth is certainly a theme found in the Bible from cover to cover. In about ten years, ask me how it all turned out.

I love thinking about the inheritance you and mom will receive in heaven!
