“I do it MYSELF!”
Aren’t these the words many infant children utter when you try to teach or assist them in completing a simple task. You think, “No, you won’t be able to do it yourself.” Or, “Please don’t be so bossy and arrogant … you need help and are too proud to receive it.”
What’s sad is when this tendency appears in adults or leaders who are thinking only of their reputation or political advantage. Guess what? There is a day coming when they simply wont be able to do it themselves. Then, they will have to relent and accept help or advice.
A wise leader seeks counsel and advice from others who may have more experience or expertise on a subject. When they do, everyone wins and the Body of Christ becomes more healthy.
