Gifts From God

God said, “I have filled [Bezalel] with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills.” God gifted him to be an artisan craftsman to form utensils to be used in the Tabernacle. Although he must have had a rare talent, he was an example of how God gifts us to serve Him as members of the Body of Christ.

This is another reason why it is wise to serve the Lord with the abilities He has designed and deposited in you. Coveting another’s gift and placement leads to a life of frustration and un-fulfillment.

Ask yourself, “What am I good at, that comes naturally, and gives me joy and pleasure when doing it?” That may be your ministry gift. (And no, it’s not EATING DONUTS!)

Blood Everywhere

The Tabernacle surely had alot of blood thrown around. From all the sacrifices morning and evening, and the instructions God had given as to where the blood should be sprinkled … even applied to the right ear, the right thumb, and the right toe of the priests, blood was an essential component of the sin removal process. In addition, the meat and entrails of the animals sacrificed were also frequent sights in the holiness process.

We don’t like to see blood. We are taken back when we even prick our finger, let alone get a big gash (God forbid) somewhere on our body.

Christ must have been a bloody mess during His crucifixion. He must have been difficult to look at in His hour of ultimate trial. Yet, we must be reminded of His sacrificial deed  often. Communion is an occasion when God wants us to see and remember Christ’s blood. His blood made a mess, but it cleaned up a mess.

Precise Instructions

God gave Moses very precise instructions on how to construct the Tabernacle. Details on how each component was to be made and assembled for Him to have a dwelling place as the Children of Israel journeyed toward their Promised Land destination. Even the colors were specified.

In the same way, God has precisely made each one of us and given us particular abilities (and colors) to be assembled into His dwelling place, The Church.

It is a big mistake to envy others in their function and appearance. We were all made to fit together into His Body here on earth. Just be faithful to be the best YOU possible and be obedient to His calling and function for your life.

Divine Health

God promised Moses and the Children of Israel that they would experience a supernatural level of health and provision when they lived by the laws and precepts  gave to Moses. God exempted them from the diseases of Egypt as a form of blessing because they belonged to Him.

Christians also experience a supernatural level of health and blessing afforded them by their faith in Jesus. God is a loving Father and it’s His good pleasure to bestow favor upon us. When we do experience health challenges, He is with us in comfort and provision. I have experienced supernatural strength and hope, even though I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer in my blood in 2012. I’m still here writing this blog everyday with the strength and health God gives.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. 1 Thess. 5:23,24

A Day of Rest

God instituted the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments. He gave a pattern in Creation … work 6 days and rest the 7th. It’s far too easy to pass off taking a day of rest as legalism.

Essentially, to the New Testament Believer, our life can enter into a Sabbath rest as we have ceased from our own labors (to earn righteousness) and have been given the righteousness of Christ. He paid for it with His sacrificial death.

Nevertheless, it’s good to give one day back to God for the seven He’s given us.

No Battle … No Victory!

The Israelites experienced a significant victory at Rephadim where they conquered the Amalekites at the base of the mountain where Aaron and Hur lifted up Moses’ hands in faith towards God. News of this victory would echo across the Promised Land and strike fear in their enemies.

Interestingly, they had just provoked Moses with their complaining and backbiting. They did not have the eyes of faith to see their path to freedom and blessing because of their petty carnality,

In a Christian’s life, there are challenges and battles to fight, but they pale in comparison to the satisfaction and rewards available to those who “Fight the Good Fight of Faith.” 1 Tim. 6:12

Listen Carefully

God challenged the Israelites to “Listen Carefully” to His laws and precepts. Their reward would be lives free from the diseases of Egypt.

It has never been more critical to hear God’s voice. With the escalation of temptation and demonic activity in the world around us, the saints of God must regiment themselves to be consistent daily in hearing God’s voice through His Word and in prayer.

“Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of My doors.” Pr. 8:34

God’s Path

God didn’t lead the Israelites on the shortest path from Egypt to Canaan … He led them on the route that would avoid conflicts that could have destroyed them. He knew what they could handle and what they couldn’t.

It’s no different today. God will lead your personal life in a route and path that will give you the best advantage. This is why it is dangerous to try to rule your own destiny apart from God’s guidance.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. But God will not allow you to be tempted above that which you can stand, but will with the temptation make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13

“When I See The Blood”

God promised that He would exempt the Hebrew families from the death angel when He saw the blood of a perfect, sacrificial lamb upon their doorpost and lintel. The blood kept them alive. The blood prevented tragedy. The blood was the mark of an agreement. The blood said, “I and my family are believers.”

Never let the blood of Christ be a discounted issue. His blood was shed from a perfect Lamb, fulfilling the requirement of God for an acceptable sacrifice.

No wonder songs are composed extolling Christ’s blood. We need to declare its value un-ashamedly. It’s God’s mark upon us.

Hard-hearted Leaders

Repeatedly God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to restrict the children of Israel from leaving Egypt to worship the Lord. Even through disastrous plagues, Pharaoh kept changing his mind.

Today, we often wonder how leaders can think the way they do. God may have something to do with allowing their minds to believe strange things. The key for the Christian is to continually believe the Lord and be obedient to Him. He is working out His plan in the events of the end times.
