God told Abraham that his descendants would enfure 400 years of suffering … the Babylon captivity … but that they would come out of that trial with great riches.
This pattern is often ehibited when we go through periods of suffering. It’s no picnic to endure, but when its all over, we have someting we didn’t have when we entered it.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. [Heb. 12:11]
