God instituted the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments. He gave a pattern in Creation … work 6 days and rest the 7th. It’s far too easy to pass off taking a day of rest as legalism.

Essentially, to the New Testament Believer, our life can enter into a Sabbath rest as we have ceased from our own labors (to earn righteousness) and have been given the righteousness of Christ. He paid for it with His sacrificial death.

Nevertheless, it’s good to give one day back to God for the seven He’s given us.
