Blood Everywhere

The Tabernacle surely had alot of blood thrown around. From all the sacrifices morning and evening, and the instructions God had given as to where the blood should be sprinkled … even applied to the right ear, the right thumb, and the right toe of the priests, blood was an essential component of the sin removal process. In addition, the meat and entrails of the animals sacrificed were also frequent sights in the holiness process.

We don’t like to see blood. We are taken back when we even prick our finger, let alone get a big gash (God forbid) somewhere on our body.

Christ must have been a bloody mess during His crucifixion. He must have been difficult to look at in His hour of ultimate trial. Yet, we must be reminded of His sacrificial deed  often. Communion is an occasion when God wants us to see and remember Christ’s blood. His blood made a mess, but it cleaned up a mess.
