In the new homeland of the Israelites, sections were allotted to the tribes as an inheritance, a region of land they could call their own to live in. They could then pass on to their posterity their portion.
The Levites, however, were given no land. They were given the food portions of the sacrifices. They ate well. They, no doubt, were well acquainted with the finest portions of meat etc. Above all, they were given THE LORD as their main portion.

I’d rather have Jesus.
