God can sit and look at eternity like a book. He can leaf to any page He wants at any time. He is not limited by time as we know it. Yet, He has the power and ability to splice into a moment and do as much as He’d like ie. speak a universe into existence.

His ways and commands apply to the continuum of time as we know it. He doesn’t change or develop like we do. He always was and always shall be. World without end.

READ/HEAR: 1 Chron. 15,16

David didn’t just sit under the trees and strum his harp. He was a warrior and his fame spread throughout every land. All the nations feared him because God’s Hand of favor and conquest was upon him. He always sought the Lord’s direction and support for his battle endeavors.

This persona and posture is an example to us regarding our prayer life. Our weapons are not carnal ie. swords and knives and guns. Our weapons are prayer and praise. Using David’s formula of seeking the Lord’s blessing and support as we battle the challenges of life can characterize us as New Testament warriors for God.

We are to be terrified by NOTHING.

READ/HEAR: 1 Chron. 12-14

David had been chosen by God to be the King of Israel. As long as he put the Lord first, God surrounded him with mighty men and strong leaders. This order was God’s doing and not that of David’s ambition. As the leader, God gave him plans and insights that came to none other.  He was the leader.

God gives insights to leaders that come only to them. Others see God’s hand upon them and join their energies and abilities to that leader to accomplish God’s overall plan and will.

In a home, God grants insights and abilities to the parents to successfully manage it. Mutual respect and appreciation help form a marriage bond that lasts.

READ/HEAR: 1 Chron. 10,11

King David and Samuel, the prophet, chose men who were faithful, dependable, and trustworthy to be gatekeepers at the Tabernacle. Gatekeepers were also known as guards or porters. Regardless, they were there whenever the doors were open.

Faithfulness to God’s House is a remarkable quality and is to be commended in an age when the littlest excuse seems to prevent many from attending church. Sports, need for sleep, social functions, and lack of interest seem to trump the habit of church in many households. This is a dangerous tendency, especially because it sets a costly precedent for the impressionable hearts children who will abuse to excess what their parents excuse in moderation.

Keep them in church.

READ/HEAR: 1 Chron. 8,9

Upon hearing all the names of the bloodlines of the leaders of Israel, we are made aware of the significance of each person. God recorded their names so that they would be remembered. They each held a place in God’s economy and Kingdom.

To be personally listed in the Lamb’s Book of Life again points to the way God uses a name to hold a place in His Kingdom. This is a reason for us to rejoice!

“Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20

READ/HEAR: 1 Chron. 6,7

A book was written about this prayer. It should be an example to us of how to pray with faith.

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” [1 Chron. 4:10]

The books of 1st and 2nd Chronicles are evidence that ancestry matters. Lessons can be learned by studying your forefathers, their accomplishments and their mistakes. Family core values are important. Also, certain families may have a different bent or proclivity to certain qualities and abilities.

Knowing your family’s strengths and weaknesses can help shape or direct your prayers. Above all, families that have a Godly heritage and are inclined to serve the Lord will experience divine favor.

READ/HEAR: 1 Chronicles 1,2

Although a young boy when he began raining, King Josiah was advised by Godly men. He immediately began eliminating and tearing down idols and shrines that were directed to false gods. This pleased the Lord greatly.

it is wise for leaders to retain Godly counsel to help establish their authority on a spiritual platform.  Thus it is possible to please God and the people.

When Godly men are in authority the people rejoice. When ungodly men are in authority, the people grown.

READ/HEAR: 2 Kings 23-25

There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason as to why kings would be good or bad. A good king would have a bad son and a bad king would have a good son. It doesn’t make sense. It’s as if God was highlighting the fact that he offers free choice to each of us.

Parents must make it a priority to raise children that will serve the Lord and receive His favor and benefits. A healthy free will can be cultivated in the home in their early years.

READ/HEAR: 2 Kings 20-22

Hezekiah trusted the Lord when Jerusalem was surrounded and under siege by Sennacherib, King of Assyria. Although taunted by the enemy, he sought the Lord and inquired of the prophet Isaiah. In one night, God’s angel slew 185,000 Assyrians and they retreated to a life of defeat themselves. God turned the tables because Hezekiah trusted in him.

Trust the Lord and watch him defend you and prosper you.
