Among all the wise and unwise counsel offered to Job from his “friends,” there are some gems. One such quote is from Eliphaz encouraging the memorization of scripture.

We fill our hearts with so much emptiness. The media floods us with meaningless amusement and our addictive appetite for enjoyment responds. For many, it is time to push on the pause button and evaluate the vanity our heart has been feeding upon.

Suggestion: try substituting some scripture memory for a portion of our media diet.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. -Joshua 1:8
