God said to Solomon, “Ask for whatever you want Me to give you.” Solomon wisely asked for a discerning heart to provide wise judgment in ruling the nation. God was impressed with his request, so much so that He decided to additionally bequeath wealth and honor to the young king. He had it all!

It’s much easier for God to grant requests that are in keeping with His Kingdom objectives rather than selfish, temporal desires.

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. [James 4:3]
