Is. 43, 44
There is an obscure verse in chapter 44 that says, “(A man) gets hungry and loses his strength; he drinks no water and grows faint.” This describes a condition of depletion of energy caused by lack of necessary nutrients and water. I have experienced it. Cyclists call it “The bonk.” You need water and energy immediately. If not, you’ve hit the wall and can’t go on.
It’s a big lesson in staying hydrated.
God uses this miracle element called water for many purposes. Critical to the human body, we are wise to drink plenty.
Jesus said, “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” [Jn. 4:14]
