Eph. 2 [The Message]

We are so fortunate that God’s first inclination is toward mercy in dealing with our shortcomings. We all deserve DEATH because of our rebellion and love of sin. But God wouldn’t have it that way. His merciful grace compensated for our fallen nature and lifted us back up to a position of favor whereby we are promised an eternal life of bliss with Him in Heaven. Best deal in the universe.

We are wise to also consider Christ’s words concerning mercy … “Blessed are the merciful (those who are merciful to their fellow man), for they shall obtain mercy.” As we extend mercy to those who offend us, we shall likewise receive mercy to live by ourselves.

We know what mercy is because God first showed it to us. Thank you, Jesus!
