2 Kings 3 [The Message]

Moab and Ammon, two sons of Lot through incest, were constant sources of irritation to Israel and Judah. They were products of the flesh, the general category of human lustful appetites and carnal desires. In the same way a Christian is in a constant struggle with the carnal appetites, Moab was always a thorn to God’s people.

Moab was defeated ONLY when God’s divine assistance was sought. In the same manner, our flesh and its carnal appetites can most effectively be conquered through God’s grace as provided with the infilling of His Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (moderation and self-restraint): against such there is no law. [Gal. 5:22,23]
