The power of commitment

Pr. 16:3

When you commit life’s tasks to the Lord, He impacts your plans and will give you a successful outcome.

It’s simply a matter of saying, “Lord, I give this task to You. I need YOUR HELP.”

It’s really foolish to attempt projects solely relying upon your very limited knowledge and skill.

Jesus said, “Nevertheless, not My will, but Thine (the Heavenly Father’s) be done.

Collaboration

Pr. 15:22

If you want success, you are wise to seek the input of others.

As Headmaster of TCS, I sought to collaborate with other members of our administration at a weekly meeting. It created a secure and thought-out approach to decisions that needed to be made. It was a big step when I discovered I didn’t have all the answers.

God is watching!

Pr. 15:3

It’s highly foolish to think your secret sins are hidden from God. Why do you think Jesus taught us to ask for forgiveness for our sins in nearly the same breath as we ask for DAILY bread?

God’s eyes are EVERYWHERE. Those same eyes see you when you need help.

Keep watching, Lord!

Answer gently

Pr. 15:1

A soft answer detunes anger, but harsh words stir it up.

Everybody has an emotional filter that monitors what they say and hear. It’s kinda like a sleeping guard dog. If you pull on his ears, you may get bit. If you pet him and call him a good boy, he may wag his tail.

When aroused, anger becomes the message rather than what you’re actually saying. Keep your cool.

Holding home together

Pr. 12:7

A Gofly parent can give their offspring staying power to overcome life’s pitfalls. Not so to the rebellious parent who sows instability in their children.

Christ is The Rock, and a parent who builds the family on Jesus gives children an anchor to weather ANY STORM.

Watch the ant

Pr. 6

Ever sit and watch an ant? They are interesting. For every 12 inches they travel, they probably make 6 different course adjustments. I’ve NEVER seen an obese ant. They can carry ( or drag) items multiple times their size and weight. When they meet another ant, they don’t stop and have a cup of coffee. If you demolish their hill ( home) with the lawnmower, they will produce another one very soon.

No wonder the Bible says the sluggard is their exact opposite.

Choose integrity

Pr. 3:32

A forward, twisted and crooked man is resisted by God. However,  the Lord keeps intimate touch with those who walk in integrity and rightstanding.

Always come down on the right side of any decision. God is watching and will work in you by His grace to do the right thing. [Phil. 2:13]

Nap without worry

Pr. 3:24

I love naps. The older I get, the more I value and need them. It would take the joy out of rest if I was all worried and fearful when I rested.

The Christian can rest while the Lord pulls guard duty. He giveth His beloved sleep. [Ps. 127:2]
