Rev. 13

In light of your future, what challenges you will face in the days to come, God’s Word encourages you to have patient endurance and faithfulness. Our hope is ultimately IN THE LORD and not on our circumstances. We don’t always know what challenges life will bring … if we did our anxiety might become less tolerable … but we can set our heart to focus on God’s faithfulness and rely upon His grace to get us through.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” [Jn. 16:33]

Rev. 12

The devil is on a timeline and a leash. He is NOT HAPPY. He and his imps (demons) are dedicated to making life miserable for you. Ever get that feeling?

What do we do? We run to Jesus for cover and protection. We are safe there. In fact, the Lord Jesus loves it when we find our refuge in Him. If you are a parent, you understand how wonderful it is when your young children snuggle up and find their comfort in your arms. The love Christ has for us is like that. He loves it when His children come to Him. This is what He says to us …

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.” [Matt. 11:28]

Rev. 11

Our president announced that the US would lead a New World Order. I think, “Who gave him the authority to do this?” I then think of Psalm 2 which says, “Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”

This amuses the Lord. In fact, the Psalmist said that God laughs at these plans men make. In Revelation, we read of His Mighty Power and how He reveals it according to a timeline He has established. Remember, God controls ALL the elements …. earthquakes, wind and rain, the heavens (sun, moon and stars). Even the animals will obey His Voice an do what He instructs them to do.

Our hope is IN THE LORD, not in a silly New World Order.

Rev. 10

God’s angel had a scroll in his hand. John was instructed to eat it. He found it sweet in his mouth, but bitter in his stomach.

When God’s Word really works in our lives, He begins a process that revolutionizes our being. When we read or hear the Word, we KNOW it’s true and right, but when our lives need some conversion towards holiness, there is some pain involved. Athletes know there’s a difference between good pain and bad pain. This is good pain. It signifies growth and improvement. It’s bearable, but after the body heals and restores itself, you are at a new place in health and strength. This process is ESSENTIAL. if we try to avoid it, we are deceiving ourselves and won’t really make profitable gains.

Eat the Word. It’s GOOD for you.

Rev. 9

I’ve heard some say, ” I’m going to hell because all my friends will be there.” STUPID!!! They must think it will be a big, drunken party with the devil as the bartender.

Obviously this person has no idea what Rev. 9 has to say about the torment and tragedy that will be directed toward those who reject God. Unspeakable calamity will occur upon the earth experienced by those who don’t have God’s mark upon their lives.

This should motivate Christians to share the Gospel in hyper gear. NOW is the time to show our compassion and give sinners an escape from the doom to come.

Rev. 8

God keeps all your prayers and uses them as fuel when He pours out His judgements. Never doubt that your prayers are a part of God’s actions upon the earth when He sets out to make all things right. He will not leave anything undone. It MUST all turn out to His liking or it will be cast into the Lake of Fire and burned.

God can answer instantaneously or wait. Let Him be the judge. Just keep praying.

Prayer is often the ONLY thing we can do. It is always the BEST thing we can do.

Rev. 7

A theologian I ain’t. However, when I read about the 144,000 in the Revelation, I think about years ago when TCS (me, I hired him) hired a young man to teach. In his Bible class, I very quickly became aware that he was teaching a form of ultra Calvinism that said that the 144,000 jews in the book of Revelation were already predetermined and predestined. His students went right home and began questioning their parents about this point. I was contacted quickly. Needless to say, the young teacher had a very short tenure at TCS. A positive was that his students really began digging in about their faith and what they believed about God’s control over the future.

The ultra Calvinism position renders evangelism unnecessary. Unnecessary it ain’t.

Rev. 6

I doubt that anyone totally understands the symbolism and meaning of much of the Book of Revelation, but one thing is for sure … the Lamb of God has ALL POWER and will avenge the saints and show His might. Many say, “I have read the last chapter, and we WIN!” That’s true. In this life, there may be suffering and challenges, but the Lamb has and will conquer all.

Lord, we put our total trust in YOU. You are the conquering Savior. Especially, you have conquered death, hell, and the grave. Alleluia!

Rev. 5

John saw 10,000 times 10,000 angels surrounding God’s throne in heaven who were singing and worshiping Him. Do the math … that’s one hundred million angels. Do you think that’s enough? That’s far greater than any army here on earth. Consider that one angel can defeat 180,000 soldiers. Now, we’re looking at an army of angels who can “take” 18,000,000,000,000 humans in combat and defeat them. Now, THAT’S AN ARMY.

These angels are given an assignment to protect and care for you “Lest you dash your foot against a stone.”

“Holy, holy, holy.”

WE don’t fully understand what holy means. GOD IS HOLY. THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN ABOUT HOLINESS IS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD. WORLDLINESS IS PROBABLY THE OPPOSITE OF GODLINESS. LIFE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME MORE LIKE GOD AND THEREFORE, BECOME MORE HOLY. A LIFESTYLE OF HOLINESS IS ACTUALLY SOMEWHAT IRRITATING. GOD’S WAYS ARE SO DIFFERENT FROM OURS THAT WE BECOME ODDITIES IN OUR CULTURE. THE BENEFITS AND GLORIES OF HEAVEN WILL FAR FAR OUTWEIGH FEELING ODD IN THIS LIFE. LET’S PRESS INTO GOD.
