God is Everywhere

Omnipresent is the word used. Not only is God everywhere at the same time, He is also present at any point in time. He can look at a thousand years ago as if it’s today. He also knows the future … we are getting metaphysical here.

To the believer, this is comforting … knowing that God’s love and care are present at all times in all circumstances. Parents can’t completely watch their children all the time, but God can go with them and care for them.Your future may be scary, but God is already there looking out for you.

PRAYER: Lord, Your great care and love keep us. You know all. We don’t. Therefore, we trust You with our lives, our loved-ones, and our future.

The City of David

From March 3-10, I will be visiting Israel. I can’t wait to stand on the temple steps and look down over the City of David. I’ve been told it’s a very moving experience.

There’s a lesson here: If you put God first in your life and simply live from day to day with the faith He gives, He will supernaturally cause amazing things to happen in your life. He actually gives you what you really hope for down deep in your heart. it’s a life of trust and reward. (I could give many testimonies on this point)

PRAYER: Lord, you have shown me over and over … that if I seek You first, You will add all these things unto me. They are things of Your choosing and Your wisdom. I praise You. I thank You. You are good to me.

God is Always Watching

He never slumbers or sleeps … His eyes are always on the righteous … He watches your every step to make sure you don’t slip … His focus is on your life to protect you from all harm.

In heaven we will probably be able to view a replay reel of all the tragedies God protected us from; automobile accidents that never happened, evil workers who targeted us for mischief, financial disasters that God warded off.

It’s one of the glorious benefits God bestows upon the heirs of salvation … it’s better than the Secret Service that protects the president.

PRAYER: Father, we are extremely grateful for Your marvelous protection. For that reason, we want to praise You today for Your love and care You give to Your children.

God’s Word Keeps Me Alive

Sorry to mention myself one more day.

For anyone who is afflicted, this post is a key … God’s Word can keep us alive. The Psalmist said,

“If your law had not been my delight,
I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life.”  [Ps. 119:92,93]

I have had three very good days in a row. It is so nice to feel good. Thanks You, Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, in You we find our life, our health, our provision, our reason to live. Apart from You, we are nothing. Energize us through Your Spirit today to show the world Your power.

My Life is In His Hands

Ps. 118 is especially meaningful to me because it identifies the fact that how long we live is determined by the Lord alone. Verses 17 and 18 say,

I will not die but live,
and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
The Lord has chastened me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.”

And in Ps. 119:88;

“In your unfailing love preserve my life,
that I may obey the statutes of your mouth.”

My health condition is not actually in the driver’s seat … the Lord is. In fact, my health condition makes me more acutely aware of the true meaning of life … it’s a gift and a chance to bring glory to God.

PRAYER: Father, we are grateful for the opportunity to display Your greatness through our lives. Cleanse us from all sin so that our light may shine more brightly.

A Life of Praise

David is our example for a life of praise. Regardless of your calling or position in life, God desires that you engage in a daily, consistent habit of giving Him the praise that is due His name.

We are like mirrors that reflect His glory and greatness. Though our lives, His purposes in the earth are manifested. Yes, He has used creation to show us His power, but men are His crowning achievement, and they, above all, have the privilege to display His glory to the earth.

PRAYER: Lord, every day of my life, I will show forth Your praise. Let Your greatness be seen in me, in my obedience, in my demeanor, in my trust. Preserve my life so I can go on serving You.

God Remembers His Promises

David declared, “(God) remembers his covenant forever, the promise He made, for a thousand generations.” [Ps. 105:8]

The promises He made to Abraham are still in effect. It’s up to us to read these promises and begin living in them. Albeit, many of these promises made to the Jews become figurative to contemporary Christians, but it is The Father’s nature to bless His people.

He wants to be good to us and bless us and that will NEVER change.

PRAYER: Father in Heaven, You are GOOD. Your promises to me are overwhelming. I praise You all day today for Your faithfulness to me.

Craving Caution

God gave to Israel all they really needed … lands they didn’t own, food they didn’t procure, victories they didn’t deserve. But, to them it wasn’t enough. They became obsessed with their personal, carnal cravings. He eventually gave them their heart’s desire, but sent a spiritual leanness into their soul.

We similarly get into trouble when we focus on what we want rather than what God has miraculously provided. Gratitude and self-denial are vital to spiritual health.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for our carnal cravings, the destructive diets we choose for our belly and our mind. Through Your Word, create within us a healthy lifestyle that pleases You and is adequately grateful for all You have given to us.

Becoming Blameless

David boldly stated his ideal when he declared, “I will be careful to live a blameless life.” Although there was no TV, he committed, “I will not look with approval on anything that is vile.”

As Paul gave his final challenge to Timothy concerning his lifestyle as a Christian leader, he said, “… Pursue righteousness … keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God gives us His grace to contend for lifestyles that honor Him. He shed His blood to keep us clean.

PRAYER: Father, forgive us for our shortcomings. We want to follow You with holy living. Empower us with Your grace to accomplish this.

Righteousness Revealed

Through the praises of His people, God reveals his righteousness. Christ Jesus was the incarnation of God Himself in the flesh, and through our flesh, our ability to sing and declare, He makes known His presence in the earth.

He chooses to use mere mortals to relate the story of immortality. Through earthen vessels, he exposes the great treasure of His righteousness and His Holy Spirit.

IF we don’t praise Him, He can cause the rocks to cry out.

That would be a shame.

PRAYER: Lord, I will use whatever means that I can to praise You. You are great, and the greatness of Your Kingdom should be revealed through my life and praise.
