Uzziah began as a good king but became proud to the point of presuming against God. Although he was forbidden to do so, he went into the temple to perform a priesthood function reserved only for priests. When the rightful priests voiced their objection, he got mad at them for their resistance. God smote him with leprosy on his forehead immediately. He essentially lost his rule in that instant because of his pride.

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

DAILY PRAYER: Lord, forgive us for the many presumptuous sins we commit during the day. We humble ourselves and declare our need of You.
