… (until) I have done what I promised you.” These were the words God spoke to Jacob the night he slept as he was on his journey to find a wife. He called the spot Bethel, the House of God, the Gate of Heaven.

Paul echoed this theme of God’s covenant ability to unfold His plan in our lives when he said, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” [Phil. 1:6]

Our confidence is in God Who made us and sustains us rather than in our own energy and ability.

PRAYER: Lord, we are awed by Your great power in our lives. Your plan will succeed. Ours will fail. We relinquish our lives to You alone.
