John declared that those who love the Lamb of God “Overcame [Lucifer] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Our culture promotes the love of life. We are all about creature comforts and a quality standard of living. Even as Christians, we tend to pursue the blessings in this world rather than the one to come.

A fresh look at the eternal timeline tells us that the life to come with God in Heaven FAR eclipses this life with the best it can offer. Why would we therefore want to jeopardize our heavenly reward by putting our focus on the fleeting pleasures of this life’s allure?

The last time I looked our streets are paved with asphalt, not gold.
