The newly constructed Tabernacle underwent the process of anointing and consecration.  Moses took oil and prayed a prayer of dedication over the various components of the Tabernacle and the priests who were to minister to the Lord there.

Of all the things we can dedicate and consecrate to the Lord, our lives and those of our offspring are the most precious and valuable. There is no higher calling or station in life than to be set apart for the LORD’S use and service.

Parents can set apart their children for the Lord’s service, as did Samson’s parents and those of John the Baptist.  Obviously, Father God sent Christ into the world to be obedient to the Heavenly calling.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts:  Ps. 65:4
