A select group of Levites was designated to carry the Ark and its furnishings from camp to camp as the Israelites crossed the wilderness bound for the Promised Land. God was very particular about their conduct and their process. They were exempted from serving in the army and given many perks and privileges because of their sacred duty.

You and I, as New Testament believers, are called upon to carry God’s presence and display His glory to our generation. Paul said, “Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you?” [1 Cor. 3:16]
