Who Can Stand Against the Lord?

When the Lord gets ready to usher in the millennial reign, He will reveal His wrath upon all who have resisted Him.  All the rulers of the earth will be looking for places to hide from Him, but they won’t find relief.  We can get so rattled when we see around us so much resistance to God’s ways.  We should realize that even the kings of the earth are on a leash and its in His hand.

Bow (worship) now and stand (victoriously) later, or stand now (resisting the Lord) and bow (in fear) later.

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, forgive us for forgetting the fate of Your enemies.  We trust the future to You, and will honor You and Your ways everyday.

Holy Living Will Be Rewarded

John, the one to whom the Revelation was given, saw saints who had not “defiled their clothing.”  This refers to holy living.  They were dressed in white clothing and walked with The Lamb for all to see.  THIS is what I call an open reward.

Presently, the open rewards appear to be to those who think only of themselves.  God, however, is watching and waiting for the day when He will hand out the eternal rewards.  They will validate those who believed His promises, resisted the temptation to appease their flesh, and were sustained by His empowering grace.

Hold on!

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, I want to walk with You in white.  Let Your holiness saturate my life.

Do Not Fear

This is what the resurrected Jesus said to John as he knelt before Him.  The Lord then proceeded to give him messages to the 7 churches of New Testament times.  He addressed His remarks to “Whomever had an ear to hear.”

Jesus gave words of correction, but asked for repentance on the part of the believers.

Can we likewise hear the Lord’s loving but corrective voice, and swiftly offer to turn away from whatever displeases Him?  If we overcome the challenges of this life, He promises to make it eternally worthwhile for us.

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, I want to hear Your loving, corrective voice.  I want to please You with every word, thought, and action.  Be exalted through my life.

Judgement Will Come!

Jude, half brother to Jesus, wrote his epistle to warn the church of error, especially leaders who promoted a laxity in standards of holy living, and to challenge believers to remain faithful to God,  We, like they, are encouraged to “Build each other up in the most holy faith, pray in the power of [led by] the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.”  In doing so, he said we would keep ourselves safe in God’s love.

To those who undermine and destroy faith in God, there will be punishment like that of Sodom and Gomorrah whose inhabitants sought only to serve their pleasure.

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, Your judgements are to be feared, but we desire to walk in truth and love and holy living.  Empower us today to reach out in love to those who are faltering.

God is Greater!

It is easy to lose sight of God’s greatness when the government, the media, and increasing popular opinion seem to cut against Biblical teachings.  However, we are made aware by God’s Word that it is necessary for ungodliness and anti-christ influences to be manifest before Jesus in His greatness finally concludes this age.

It’s critical and necessary that Christians keep reading God’s Word on a daily basis to remain anchored on God’s unchanging standards of what’s right and what’s wrong.

Make a decision right now to give the time necessary to reading significant portions of the Bible on a daily basis.

As this devotional concludes with the book of the Revelation, we will again embark on the goal of reading through the entire Bible in one year.  It takes a mere 15 minutes per day to do it. You will be so glad you did.

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, give me the grace to make a quality decision to read through the Word in one year.  I love You , and I need Your Word.

You Have an Anointing

As Christians, God has given us His Holy Spirit to guide and teach us to live lives pleasing to Him.  Since the Bible describes God’s Spirit as oil, we have the picture of it being poured upon us as an ointment, hence the word anointing.

That presence and life-assistance is as close as the mention of the name of Jesus.  Ask Him to guide and teach You today.  He will never leave or forsake you.

DAILY PRAYER:  Lord, Your Spirit has touched my life.  I will look to You for direction today, because You know all things, and You will guide me toward what’s true and holy.

Divine Delay

God promised He would come back for us, yet He is not willing that any perish.  So, the seeming delay of Christ’s coming is only to allow more souls to find salvation.

If this is God’s heart and motive, we should make it ours also.  The delay of judgement is designed to give time and space for others to repent of their sin and have the cleansing blood of Christ for forgiveness.  God doesn’t want them to perish.

DAILY PRAYER:  Father in heaven, open my eyes that I might see the fields of souls that are ready to be brought into Your kingdom.  Forgive me for my selfishness.

More Grace is Coming!

Peter tells us to “Fix our hope COMPLETELY on the grace to be brought to us when Jesus returns.”  Grace makes the difference in our lives presently, but a whole new level is going to be given when the Lord wraps up everything as we now know it.  Now we know partly, but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part will be done away. [1 Co. 13:10]

This means we don’t live in fear for the last days.  We are confidently watching for His return.  The just shall (go on) living by their faith.

DAILY PRAYER;  Lord, thank You for your plan to redeem and protect us.  We live by the strength You give us through grace, and we anticipate the glorious gift of eternal life with You in heaven.

Be Patient Until the Lord Comes

When trying times come, we are tempted to worry and wonder about our well being.  God promised through the writer of Hebrews that He would NEVER leave us or forsake us.

He likened the patience we should have to that of a farmer who plants the seed and must wait for the ground to begin growing the seed until it brings a harvest.  Although he is waiting, he probably keeps the weeds out.

While we are waiting, let’s keep the weeds of sin out of our lives.

DAILY PRAYER:  Father, forgive me for impatience and self-indulgence.  Today, may I look on the needs of others and seek to please You with every word and action.  We always pray in the name of Jesus.

Moses’ Parents Didn’t Fear the Government

Heb. 11 clarifies that when Pharoah mandated the murder of all baby boys, his parents preserved him, not fearing the edict of the king.

It was their faith that elevated their actions above the other parents and allowed God to miraculously produce their future deliverer.  Moses was a product of faith.

Governments often legislate against the ways of God, but our faith and trust in the Heavenly Father call us to a higher realm of existence.  While we are lifted by our faith, God does great miracles.

DAILY PRAYER;  Father in Heaven, even though we see anti-christ evidence all around us. we hold to our faith in You and will orders our lives and actions to please You.
